Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 04, 2025
1. Introduction
Tooltiq ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Tooltiq. This Privacy Policy applies to our website, and its associated subdomains (collectively, our "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
2. The Tooltiq Privacy Differentiator: Client-Side Processing
This is the most important part of our policy: Tooltiq is built on a client-side architecture. This means that for the vast majority of our tools (such as Image Compressors, PDF Converters, JSON Formatters, and Text Tools), the data processing happens entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly.
Unlike server-side tools where you upload a file to a remote server to be processed and then downloaded again, Tooltiq processes your data locally on your device. Your sensitive documents, images, and code snippets are never uploaded to our servers. They never leave your computer. This architecture ensures maximum privacy and security by design.
3. Information We Collect
A. Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website, our servers and third-party service providers (like Google Analytics) automatically collect information that your browser sends. This may include:
- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- Browser type and version.
- Operating system.
- The pages of our site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages.
- Other diagnostic data.
B. Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, Tooltiq uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.
4. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of our website. Google Analytics gathers information about website use by means of cookies. The information gathered relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of our website. Google's privacy policy is available at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
5. GDPR and CCPA Rights
We respect your privacy rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we do not store personal user accounts or data on our servers (due to our client-side architecture), we generally do not hold personal data that can be exported or deleted upon request, other than standard server access logs which are rotated regularly.
However, if you believe we hold personal data about you, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Please contact us for any such requests.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. This includes using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption to protect data transmission. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
